The successful completion of Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification enables application to IOSH for membership at Graduate level (GradIOSH) leading to chartered membership status (CMIOSH).

Who should do this Level 5 Diploma?
This qualification is ideal for those responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day-to-day basis.

Duration
It can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to achieve the NVQ from receiving the induction to gathering evidence for the portfolio. The guided learning hours for this qualification (the amount of time spent with the assessor or gathering evidence) is 482 hours. On average most people complete within 18 months.

Pre-requisites
Ideally candidates applying for the Level 4 Diploma will already hold an NEBOSH certificate, Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Health and Practice or other similar qualification although it is not essential. Their must include the management of health and safety to enable them to gather the evidence required for this qualification.

• Unit 401 Develop and implement effective communication systems for health and safety information • Unit 501 Promote a positive health and safety culture
• Unit 502 Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in health and safety matters • Unit 503 Identify, assess and control health and safety risks
• Unit 504 Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for health and safety • Unit 505 Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety
• Unit 506 Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures • Unit 507 Develop and implement health and safety review systems
• Unit 508 Maintain knowledge of improvements to influence health and safety practice • Unit 601 Develop and implement the health and safety policy

Costs
The NVQ Level 5 Diploma is available at £1900 + VAT which includes induction, registration with City & Guilds, portfolio, assessment, verification and certification.
