AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES IN TRAINING, ASSESSMENT, QUALITY ASSURANCE (TAQA)
The A1 and V1 unit awards have now been replaced by the TAQA set of qualifications. They are for anyone working in, or who wants to work in, assessment and internal quality assurance. These units provide people with an opportunity to develop and improve their practice at the same time as achieving a professional qualification. Ideal for those wishing to internally assess their staff for a variety of assessment schemes (IRSE, CPCS, CSCS etc).

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (6317-30)
This is a knowledge only award, ideal as a starting point for those who want a career in assessing or for managers who want to know more about assessment practice. Although this can be completed as a stand-alone unit it can also be assessed in conjunction with the other assessment units.

Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (6317-31)
This award is for assessors who assess competence in the workplace and use the following assessment methods: observation, examination of work products, oral questioning and discussion, witness statements, learner statements and recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (6317-32)
This award is for assessors who assess knowledge or skills in a learning environment (training workshop, classroom etc) using the following assessment methods: simulations, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Achievement (6317-33)
This qualification is for assessors who assess competence and knowledge and skills and use any of the following assessment methods: observation, examination of work products, simulations, oral and written questions, discussion, witness statements, learner statements, skills tests, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL

Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (6317-40)
A knowledge only unit ideal for those starting out as an Internal Quality Assurer or those who want to know more about internal quality assurance

Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (6317-41)
This award is for Internal Quality Assurers involved in sample planning, monitoring and advising on assessment practice; this award replaces the existing V1 unit

Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (6317-42)
This qualification is for those who lead a team of Internal Quality Assurers and are responsible for managing the quality of the assessment process, practice and performance of assessors, they may also develop systems and lead on external verifier / awarding body visits (e.g. Assessing Agency Managers and Centre Co-ordinators).

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Practice (3654-03)
This qualification is ideal if your job involves health and safety and you have experience of developing and applying policy and procedures within your organisation. You may want to develop your professional skills further and this is an ideal starting point for a health and safety career.

Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice (3654-05)
This qualification is work based making it ideal for those in a health and safety management role looking for an alternative to exam based qualifications. It is suitable for any industry and covers essential occupational health and safety knowledge and skills, from conducting risk assessments to introducing procedures and promoting a culture of health and safety in the workplace.

The successful completion of the qualification enables you to apply to IOSH for membership at Graduate level (GradIOSH) leading to chartered membership status (CMIOSH).

Conversion from Level 4 to Level 5
We are also pleased to offer a conversation from the old NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice to give you the Level 5 NVQ Diploma

There is no requirement for you to do this as part of your CPD but if you wish to apply for the level 5 we require a copy of your certificate and a portfolio of evidence to confirm that you are consistently working to the new standards.
